The beginning of 1974 was a challenging time for the band as they dealt with health problems (Brian & Freddie) and equipment troubles. At the end of one particular show, the crowd sang ‘God Save The Queen’ that later became a tradition at Queen concerts. The band recorded the song for their fourth album.

In March, Queen released their second album, aptly titled Queen II.

  • Procession (May)
  • Father To Son (May)
  • White Queen (May)
  • Some Day One Day (May)
  • The Loser In The End (Taylor)
  • Ogre Battle (Mercury)
  • The Fairy Feller’s Master-Stroke (Mercury)
  • Nevermore (Mercury)
  • Funny How Love Is (Mercury)
  • Seven Seas Of Rhye (Mercury)

Roloing Stone didn’t like this effort, stating “Queen is a reasonably talented band who have chosen their models unwisely…the album remains a floundering and sadly unoriginal affair.”
